Alexander Ovechkin, Team Russia's and Washington Capitals' forward, received a diploma of the Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism (RGUFKSiT). The World Champion admitted that the professors didn't give him any indulgences.
"I was very nervous, almost like during the game" confessed Ovi to "MK". "Still, these are different emotions. Probably because of the fact that at the games I work out physically, but here it was different, it was brain's work out! Now I've realized that I can succeed not only playing hockey, but in other areas of life… College education will to add to my game, now I'll try to think more during the game, to use the theory in practice…"
Ovechkin's diploma thesis was about "Speed training of the top level hockey players". He defended it with an "A".

I’m happy to seen another Capital taking his life seriously and getting a diploma (Steckel has a degree in international business from Ohio State University). I think all pro athletes should get an advanced degree because life in the major leagues isn’t guaranteed and a beautiful mind is a terrible thing to waste.
That's awesome! Congrats Ovie!
Thanks for your comments, guys! BTW, there was another more detailed article, I just don't have time to translate, might do it later, that is saying that he will start in graduate school this fall.
