Governor: We had an agreement with Varlamov

By Dmitri Kuznetsov, Sport-Express, Sept. 13, 2008 "Interview with governor of Yaroslavl region Sergei Vahrukov" :

Do you think that you would be able to get back the Yaroslavl goalkeeper Simeon Varlamov, who recently went to North America?
In our view Varlamov went to the NHL early, he could well still play in Russia. But it is his decision. For our part we would like to see Varlamov to come back. We had an agreement with him that if things won't work out well in the NHL, we'd be waiting for him in Yaroslavl. Especially now because in the first games we saw that the team has some problems in goalie position. Besides, as I already have said, we will continue to work to strengthen the roster and we'll negotiate with other players who left Lokomotiv for the NHL.

And another governor in the news. Allhockey.ru reports that Bob Hartley is arriving to Omsk next week for "negotiations". Seems like an interview. Why?

The sources in the management of the Siberian club report that Omsk Region Governor Leonid Polezhaev is extremely dissatisfied with how Avanguard is playing this season.
