Ovechkin Salvages a Point for Caps
Capitals Insider, Nov. 15, 2008:
The Capitals saw their five-game winning streak come to an end,
but thanks to a last-second goal by Alex Ovechkin they were able to earn a point in their seventh-straight game. Washington only has one regulation loss in eight games this November and has claimed points in nine of its past 10 games.
"We had no business getting a point there but you take them and you look for positives," Coach Bruce Boudreau said. "OK, like the character of never quitting, because there were an awful lot of chances to quit and die because we made a ton of mistakes out there."
Alex had 2 goals, 1 assist, +3, 24:39 ice time, average shift 01:01, 12 shots on goal, 3 hits.

holy moly mother of God, I seriously was watching the final seconds with all those players huddle around the net thinking it's over, the puck it burried amongst those players and no one will see it until the horn sounds. then out of nowehere, i see the puck dart out from that pile of players and then i see ovie swing his stick and BAM WE SCORED!!! i couldn't believe it, that was AMAZING!!!! you cannot get any closer then that, wow 5 points for backstrom who should've been #1 star because his effort was un-matched, what a remarkable pass to ovie to get the one pt we were lucky to steal.
side note:
text Capitals to 81812 and it will send a vote for Ovie, Semin and Green automatically.
also write-in for Fedorov, let's get 4 Caps to Montreal!
Unfortunately, I don't think that anyone can catch the Habs...They're too far ahead but at least the NHL has made some modifications to the voting process so that stuffing the ballot box isn't as easy. It's getting harder and harder to vote for Ovie! ;D
