Stan Fischler: It's a free country

One thing you have to say for Alex Semin and that is the kid has discovered America is a free country. How else do we explain his ripping Sid (No Longer A Kid) Crosby? How many other NHLers would say the following: “What’s so special about Crosby? I don’t see anything special there. Patrick Kane is a much more interesting player.”

Semin believes that Crosby’s greatness is a product of NHL production. “If you take any player – even if he’s dead wood – and start promoting him, you’ll get a star.”

Disagree or not, you have to love Al’s candor. …
