Before historic event in DC, January 20, 2009

Great post by Ted Leonsis:

When I got up early this morning and the temperature outside was exactly ZERO degrees. I do not ever remember seeing that temperature mark here in DC;

My wife and I drove into DC last night for a party and for dinner. It was a Friday night rush hour on a historic weekend. We were prepared for historic traffic jams but guess what? There was NO traffic. We got into the city with ease. The traffic flow was much better than a typical Friday evening. What gives?

Security into our building tonight will be extra tight and there will be some street closings around the building so leave extra time to get to the game tonight. It will be a Red Out so wear your colors with pride and be loud and proud.

At about 11:15 pm last night on Constitution Avenue, I saw a jogger wearing shorts and a t-shirt running with great speed and laughing and shouting out loud. I think I heard him chanting, ”Yes we can!” It is an amazing time to be in DC.
