Ovechkin: We need Fedorov for playoffs

I won't lie, I wanted to score the 50th goal at home. But, apparently, God wants me to score it in the game against Atlanta. Especially since the game will be televised nationally.

But the Thrashers might not have Ilya Kovalchuk. He has an upper body injury.
I didn't talk with Ilyukha [tj - Ilya] about this. But he is their leader, pulling in the whole team. Atlanta without Kovalchuk is weaker by 50-60%.

Do you keep an eye on the KHL playoffs?
For sure. I root for Dynamo and for my friends from other clubs, for Nikulin and Stepanov from Ak Bars. I know that Dynamo is in semifinals already, while Ak Bars Saturday beat Avangard 11:1.

Do you feel that Washington greatly miss Sergei Fedorov? He skipped two games because of the flu.
We need his experience. But in principle we need to Fedorov for playoffs. So far we can handle it.
