Lies, damn lies and stats
H/t to Rick Carpiniello, Rangers Report:
In NHL best-of-seven series according to Elias Sports Bureau:Game 1 winners have gone 69.1% (367-164) winning percentage. The winner of Game 2 has 71.8% (381-150) of winning the series. Teams that have won both games to go up, 2-0, have gone 87.2% (254-37) Game 2 winners who lost Game 1 have gone 52.9% (127-113). Teams that have won Game 1 but lost Game 2 have gone 47.1% (113-127)
Interesting, Rangers have 69.1% of winning percentage wise right now, but if they lose game 2, Caps will have 71.8% wise (381-150) of winning the series! Hold on, Game 2 winners who lost Game 1 have gone 52.9%! Bhahaha! Also if Ranjas will lose, they have less than 50% chance of winning the series.
What does it tell you? It tells you that we haven't started yet.
That's all you can say about the stats, they don't mean anything for the teams fighting in playoffs. Nobody has ever gave up because of the stats.
