Lundqvist: Oh, shoot

It's been revealed that Mike Green was under the weather and that's why he didn't perform well. In a game of milliseconds Greeen was noticeably tardy, his timing was off, especially when he was trying to shoot the puck. By the time he'd launch it, there would be the opponent's stick or defenseman on the way already.

Pierre LeBrun reports this:

"He's been under the weather. He was sick," Caps GM George McPhee told ESPN.com on Thursday. "And he mentioned today that he finally feels good."

"We're impressed that he's played through this," said McPhee. "He's been sick and he finally feels good today."

Green said Thursday at the team's practice facility in Arlington, Va., he finally felt like he had his legs under him.

I think it was the same for Ovechkin in game 2. He was definitely under the weather, he was sick too. As Ovie said, the playoffs is like a wheel of fortune, there are so many factors that can influence the outcome. Would Ovie be in the top shape, he'd definitely score on Lundqvist in game 2.

Good news is that Ovie finally solved Lundqvist, that Green is healthy and they will tear up Rangers tonight. Lundqvist seems to have his ups and downs and tonight he is going down. Read Lundqvist lips tonight, "oh, shooooooooooooooooooooot" :-)

Rangers Rant, Apr. 23, 2009:
I asked Lundqvist about that Alex Ovechkin shot that rang off the post so loudly that it literally stopped conversations in the Garden. i asked whether hearing that noise is an "Oh, shoot" moment or a "Thank, God" moment.

"The goal that hit the crossbar, that's oh shoot," said Lundqvist of Ovechkin's third-period goal. "When he hit the post, I felt I was in trouble, going to the shot I was late coming over. When you realize it's a miss, it's a good feeling. I got some luck there."

Interview with the New York Rangers Blogger by Patrick Hoffman:
The Rangers will only go as far as Henrik Lundqvist will take them in this year’s playoffs. The Blueshirts are a flawed team that without Lundqvist would probably have been swept out of the playoffs already.

By the way, Varlamov has better GAA and SV% than Lundqvist.

At least two for Ovie and at least one for Green tonight.

Go, Caps!
