- Alex Ovechkin was held to three shots on goal in Game 5. During the regular season, Ovechkin had three or fewer shots in a game only six times, including zero times in the last 29 games and just once in the last 48 (Feb. 3 at NJ, 1 shot). Including Games 1 through 4 of this series, Ovechkin had four or more shots on goal in 33 consecutive games. Ovechkin shots by game: 13, 6, 5, 11, 3. Ovechkin's 38 shots in five games combined are more than the Rangers have taken in any one game.
- The Caps are 4-31 in 48:35 of power play time (47 PP shots). Alexander Ovechkin has drawn five penalties in the series. The Caps have scored two PPGs (both in Game 1) on penalties drawn by Ovechkin.
