Semin, Varlamov on performance

By D. Shumin, D. Chesnokov, sovsport.ru, Oct. 10, 2009:

"All the talk is that I've got the second season syndrome", told us Varlamov. "But I didn't even have the first season for real! I can agree with the Coach that I need to work on psychology. Yes, I was not very successful in two games. But in general nothing terrible has happened. The season has just begun. I am not in despair."

"Some ragged game is going on for Washington," said Semin. "We play great and then all of us stop playing. I myself don't understand why... I hope we'll get into the playoffs. But if we'll show there such kind of hockey, we won't go too far. However, this is just the beginning of the season. I want to believe that our game will improve soon."
