Injury update
Doesn't sound good...
Capitals Insider:
Alex Ovechkin suffered an upper body injury in the second period tonight and did not return. The winger said he's day-to-day.
Asked what happened during the scrum, where it appeared he was originally injured, Ovechkin said: "It was just a moment of the game. Nothing happened. [Jason Chimera] hit me, I hit him. It was a little battle over there but nothing happen. I can't tell you how I got hurt. It's day to day, but just in case I didn't go back on the ice."
Asked if he thought the injury was serious, Ovechkin said: "I don't know."
H/t to CapitalsOutsider
Ovechkin didn't want to say much, but he did confirm that the injury is upper body in nature. He also took several drinks from his Gatorade bottle with his right hand, but did seem to be doing much with his left arm, though he was not wearing a sling.

Alex Ovechkin suffered an upper-body injury in the 2d per and is day-to-day. Day off tomorrow so the soonest we will have an update is Tue.
Corey Masisak, TWT:
Jason Chimera: "He kind of throw a punch at me, and then [Boll] kind of got into it and it was a mess. There was no intent to hurt somebody out there. He just hit me pretty hard that one shift, so I just let him know 'You're not going to hit me like that all game,' so I pushed him a bit, he punched me back in the face, and a couple shifts later he's off the ice, so I hope he's all right."
Jared Boll: "[Ovechkin] jumped in and I jumped in . The ref said I didn't stop (quick enough) so I got the misconduct. I had him, I don't know what happened. His arm might have got caught on the bench. "

Chimera and Boll need to be taught a lesson next time we play.
i think when a player is not getting specific about where and how he was injured, you should respect that he's doing this to avoid getting clobbered in that body part the next time he is on the ice. case in point, semin has been absolutely pounced on, hit in the back, cross-checked in the back continually. why? because players know he's been injured there before. so....if ovie doesn't want to get specific about where and what hurts, you should be just as unspecific as he is being.
