Ovechkin-less lose to Devils 2:3
WashCaps audio: BB talks after NJD game
I share the same frustration as Bruce Boudreau. I was hoping Caps would come up with the great effort, one for Ovi, blah, blah... and they didn't. A lot of guys pointed out that # 28 would raise to an occasion, instead he had 0 points, -1, 3 penalties.
Boudreau said Perrault, Sloan and Clark was Caps best line. Ovechkin talked with Joe Beninati in the intermission and said he felt a lot better. He also said that he was impressed with Perrault, "the kid will have a great future".
Fleischmann has surprised me, 3rd goal already. And he didn't train entire summer because of the injury. I was hoping for Laich to score, he was not noticable, but finished with 1 assist and with the highest ice time 21:26 among all forwards.
Nicky had 63% on faceoffs, good job! 15 won, 9 lost.
Here's the hope that the next two games Caps will adjust with playing without Ovechkin and show a better effort. Go, Caps!
