Ovechkin's skating (update)

Alex Ovechkin came out for the final 15 or 20 minutes of practice today. He definitely is still bothered by a strain in his left shoulder, but he's skating and took a few wrist shots.

Ovechkin is also going to go back on the ice in a bit -- but the Caps wanted the ice to be resurfaced so he's got a better sheet to skate on.

"Yes, he gets special ice," Boudreau said. "He pretty well gets what he wants."

Here's what Boudreau said Sunday about the bad ice...

"Alex wants to push it but [if] he trips on someone's bad ice and goes into the corner, we're sort of hurting ourselves at that point".
