...But, without question, the highlight of the trip was a surprise visit from one of the greatest players in the National Hockey League, Alexander Ovechkin. He came and met the boys following the Capitals’ morning skate.
The meet was arranged by Toros coach Mark Laniel, who is a former minor league teammate of Capitals assistant coach Bob Woods.
The dynamic Ovechkin graciously posed for pictures and patiently signed autographs for each and every one of the Toros players, which certainly helped him make a bunch of new, and very dedicated fans in Clarington.
