By Michelle Scalise, CSNwashington.com, Feb. 2, 2010:
The Washington Capitals make history with an 11-game winning streak, thanks to a 4-1 win over the Boston Bruins. The Caps now claim the best record in the NHL at 38-12-6, they lead the league with 82 points and hover over the Eastern Conference ten points over the New Jersey Devils. With 11 wins, the Caps match the longest winning streak in the NHL in the last two seasons, when the San Jose Sharks went on an 11-win run from Feb. 21-March 14, 2008.

“It’s good to make history,” Alex Ovechkin told Comcast SportsNet's Lisa Hillary after the Tampa Bay game. “Of course, we want to win. The guys played well and the fans did a great job again. We’re concentrating on the season, we’re concentrating looking forward. We happy we win ten in a row and we want to continue.”

Alex Ovechkin is now one point behind Henrik Sedin who finished tonight's game without a point.

NateEwell: Ovechkin tried out a stick he'll use at the Olympics this morning.

TO me it's still better than any Crybaby's garbage goals :-)

A goal is a goal. Especially since he dumped the puck about 10 seconds before this one and I thought he was being generous. Give it to him again? He's gonna score.

No comparison to Cindy, IMO. :)

Sweet stick, but I still hate excessive nationalism.
