BB: "Whoa, we can be done by Wednesday of next week..."

Good:

1. Theodore
2. It's not the Olympics with one game sudden death elimination, it's just one game and big Caps will wear smaller Habs down...

Bad:
Somewhere in the middle of the second it was clear Caps were going to lose that one... This is where the Coach can interfere... It didn't happen. Habs took control of the game, their smaller forwards were much quicker than Caps slow, but big D. It was just a matter of time. Tom Potti should sit.

Ugly:
Ovi didn't have a single shot on goal! He still can't find his game, the Olympics have destroyed much of his spirit...

Ovechkin's stats:
TOT 26:27, SHF 22, AVG 01:12, PP 07:39, SH 00:00, EV 18:48, A/B 5, MS 3, HT 3

G=Goals A=Assists P=Points +/-=Plus/Minus PN=Number of Penalties PIM=Penalty Minutes TOI=Time On Ice SHF=# of Shifts AVG=Average Time/Shift S=Shots on Goal A/B=Attempts Blocked MS=Missed Shots HT=Hits Given GV=Giveaways TK=Takeaways BS=Blocked Shots FW=Faceoffs Won FL=Faceoffs Lost F%=Faceoff Win Percentage PP=Power Play SH=Short Handed EV=Even Strength OT=Overtime TOT=Total

And how ironic is this? Tomas Plekanec responds to Bruce Boudreau remark, "Tomas who? Jagr?" This should've been totaly the other way around.

Tomas Plekanec backed up his critical words with an overtime winner for the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.

Plekanec, who earlier in the week raised the ire of the Washington Capitals when he remarked that the Canadiens had better goaltending than Capitals netminder Jose Theodore, scored 12:19 into OT for a 3-2 Montreal win. He chased down a bouncing puck in the high slot in Washington’s end and slapped it past Theodore to give the Habs a 1-0 lead in the first game of their opening-round series.

I gotta disagree. The whole Olympics excuse has gone on way too long now. The Olympics are in the past and all that is on Ovechkin's mind is playoffs. He played a great couple of games before -- he'll get them back Saturday!

I think the suspension is what destroyed his spirit. He's just hasn't been the same player.

A "regular" hit for him results in an injury -- and a suspension. And that must be weighing heavily on his mind.

I think it's a combination of a lot of things. He had his hopes set real high this season to do well in the Olympics and win the Stanley Cup. I think the media also had these expectations for him, and they just did not come to be, The injury, the suspensions and the Olympic disappointment, really broke his spirit and wore him down. Not to mention that he's had to see Crosby with the cup, win the gold and pass him in scoring. I have a feeling that he just wants this season to be over with, so he can go back home, relax, regroup, and then get ready for next season. I predict a better season next year, where he isnt under so much pressure. He has a long career ahead of him, maybe he will be like Selanne and finally win the cup late in his career?
