WashCaps: The crowd may boo but the media loves Ovi

iheartxenu — April 19, 2010 — OV and the Caps offense showed up big time. Who's in net next for the Habs? Try to get Roy outta retirement lol

ESPN.com:Strategically, Boudreau moved Ovechkin from his usual perch along the blue line down along the half wall and deeper in the offensive zone.

"They had really taken him away. I wanted to see their reaction when he played down low," Boudreau said. "Just sort of more see how much they would take him away and how they were playing him."

This game was a lot easier on my heart and my psyche. Coach BB looked like a soothsayer with his pick of Varly to start in goal and new line combinations.

It should come as no surprise that my favorite moment of the night was Ovie's goal and his reaction afterward. He looked absolutely joyous without a lot of extra fanfare or showboating. It looked like Ovie was looking to the heavens to thank the hockey gods (and his late brother Sergei) for the opportunity to score again in one of his favorite places to play hockey. It was a genuine, authentic, glorious moment.

Yeah, he hasn't done the kiss after scoring for a long while (The kiss goes to his older brother Sergei who died in auto accident)

Awesome game. Keep it up Caps!

Loved seeing happy, fun Ovie.

TJ,

Ovie still does the kiss after each of his goals. I haven't seen him not do so yet. Sometimes it is quick or delayed or lost in the player pile, but he still does it.
