Sweep and it ain't over till it's Ovie.

How Sweep it is!

A little thing that we can enjoy: Caps completed the sweep of the Penguins, they were never able to do it before. Nice.

Have to say thanks when the credit due to Pens Coach: what a great idea with a few seconds left and two goals behind to pull the goalie and allow Ovi to score his 48th with 0.2 seconds left in regulation. Brilliant! Sidney Crosby will never forget it, thank you Mr. Bylsma. Not just Caps won, but Ovi scored the last goal and tied for the lead. Bhahaha... Please allow me on behalf of all Ovechkin's and Caps fans to gloat for a moment, we all freaking deserved it.

Oh well, the moment is over, but the one and only Great Eight is back! That's all that matters now.

Ovechkin is tied for the first place in points and goals, but one point behind Jeff Schultz in =/-. LOL, you win some, you lose some.

The race for Art Ross and Rocket Richard trophies continues because "It ain't over till it's Ovie."

Ovechkin talks to media after the game

The Canadian Press, Apr. 6, 2010:PITTSBURGH -- The Washington Capitals aren't declaring they've surpassed the Pittsburgh Penguins despite sweeping the Stanley Cup champions this season.

They do know this: They'd rather be 4-0 against the team that traditionally dominates them in the post-season, rather than 0-4.

"I've had lots of chances to score goals, and finally it did go in," said Ovechkin, who had one goal in seven games. "The last 10 minutes, I just felt unbelievable."

The Capitals hope Ovechkin feels that way for about two weeks should the longtime rivals meet up again.

Ovechkin's 47th goal

By Dan Steinberg, DC Sports Бог:First Sergei Gonchar took out Ovechkin near the boards as he tried to get the final tally. Then he got tangled up with Jordan Staal. Now there were less than 10 seconds remaining, and it seemed like the quest would end near center-ice.

Except Alex Ovechkin doesn't go down quietly, not with a scoring title potentially on the line. So Staal sent the puck to no one across the ice, Backstrom quickly took control, Ovechkin cut toward the crease, Backstrom zipped a perfect pass, and Ovechkin skated in alone. The lamp got bright with 0.2 seconds left, tying Ovechkin for the goal-scoring lead with Crosby.

Caps fans will love that goal. Penguins fans, not so much.

Some of the latter will also point out that Ovechkin now leads the NHL with five empty-net goals. None were more memorable than Tuesday night's, though.

and Backie is 2 points shy of 100. Then the Caps will have two 100pt getters for the season. with 2 straight 3pt nights for backie somehow i think he can get 1pt a game for 100. OH and if Ovie can get 2 more assists he and Backie will be 2 Caps with at least 30goals and 60 assists!!!!

what a great night. WOOOO

Oh so sweet is the taste in the mouths of the Caps and their fans, a four game sweep of the Pens. If the two teams meet up again in the SC playoffs, and I hope they do, my wish is for the Caps to repeat their brooming of the Pens, and for Ovie to get two goals in each game. Greedy? Sure, but a fan can dream.

I don't know what Pittsburgh was thinking but GO OVIE!

I loved Ovie's little jump into the glass after Knuble's goal. Almost like the fun old days.
