Ovechkin is in Russia

According to Sport-Express Alexander Ovechkin, Alexander Semin and goalie Semyon Varlamov yesterday [Sunday] arrived to Russia. They will most likely work out with the national team along with Alexander Frolov of the Los Angeles this [Monday] evening.

I think it´s good for him he´s back home in Russia. He´s with his family and friends and perhaps he will recover for this dissapointing season in NHL. I´m very looking forward to see him in Championship. :)

David on another thread hit the nail on the head. He noted that Ovie's NHL suspensions have taken some of the joy out of playing hockey in the US, and perhaps that's why he's smiling and seems so much happier in Russia.

I hope Ovie leads Russia to a successful defense of their World Championship title. Perhaps that will take some of the sting out of his disappointments from the Olympics and Stanley Cup playoffs. I especially hope the WC experience will be a joyful time for him, to bring back the excitement he once so clearly demonstrated when he scored goals for the Capitals. This is the Ovie the Caps need to come back in order for them to seriously contend for the Stanley Cup.
