Tretiak: Ovechkin lost 3 teeth in the WC final
In the video posted at sport.rian.ru (sport.rian.ru/sport_videos/20100524/238143601.html) Tretiak says that Ovechkin has lost three teeth in addition to the one he lost a few years ago on the upper jaw.
It happened at the end of the final game vs Czech Republic when 3 teeth were knocked out of his lower jaw.

Let's hope he gets some replacements! LOL.
I kind of like the missing upper tooth. It gives Ovie a devilish look that adds to his charisma and charm. If he decides to replace the lowers, he might also include the upper to finish the job. I don't know how I'll like this if he does follow through.
It's kinda scary that the ads on this page are for teeth straightening and whitening : )
Well he said he has one that he puts in his upper jaw so that the teeth don't grow in together.. But he doesn't like to wear it. At first I hated his missing tooth, but I learned to really like it. However, I REALLY HOPE he gets the other three teeth replaced cause I think that may actually become a big problem with eating and everything else. Plus, if he doesn't replace them, he'll be really pulling off that "Hobo-Caveman" look :S
Ovie can make the single upper missing tooth work, but no one can make a few missing teeth look good. Depending on the condition of the knocked out teeth, if they were found, and how cleanly they came out of the jaw a dentist might be able to reincert them.
Ovie has/had a beautiful smile. I hope it can be restored (minus the rakishly missing upper tooth).
Oh NO! When he was hit, I just hoped it wasn't a teeth... and now it's three!
From everything I have heard, having implants done while you are still playing hockey is a bad idea. You can get false teeth to wear while you're eating, etc., but having teeth implanted - if they break again, you can do some real damage to your jaw. This is why most hockey players do not go that route. And I, for one, do not blame them.
It depends on the damage to the teeth and bone. If there is no structural damage (no need for metal plates or other detailed work), then a tooth can be reinserted.
When Belanger lost his teeth in the playoffs, he talked about having the tooth he pulled out put back in a few weeks.
Whitening toothpastes don't do very much in my experience, I have using them forever and haven't seen any results. The thing that finally did work for me, however, was a product that I found few weeks ago. The address is and I think they're still giving away free trials if you hurry. It is the same strength stuff as they use at the dentist so I guess that is why it is so successful!
