Evgeny Kuznetsov interview to Sport-Express

Before the draft ceremony, have you dreamed about a certain club that could choose you?
No, I was hoping it would be a strong team and that there would be Russians. And Washington is an ideal option. By the way, some time after the draft I went to the table housed by representatives of the club and I was handed a phone. It turned out that Alexander Ovechkin was on the line, who told me the following: "Congratulations, welcome to Washington." At first, I couldn't believe my ears that I was talking to Ovechkin.

When are you planning to travel to Washington?
First I'll work out for a few days in New York and then I'll fly there in early July. This is when the rookie camp will start.

Have you already made a decision where you will play next season?
I have an existing contract with Tractor. On the one hand I am really looking forward to get to Washington and on the other I understand the reality that I am not ready yet.

It is now possible that Caps will have Russian troika. Have you ever thought that one day you could come out on the ice on the same line with Alexander Ovechkin, one of the best players and scorers in the NHL ?
I want to play with him and Sasha Semin as soon as possible. I saw Ovechkin only on TV, and I remember Semin when he was with Tractor.
