Ovechkin and Semin at friend's wedding

Almost the entire national hockey team came to the wedding of singer Daria Vodyahina (Podium) and the Moscow CSKA hockey player Stanislav Zhmakin.
The bride and groom with their friends, Sasha Ovechkin and Alexander Semin.
The guests were celebrating till early morning.
Alexander Ovechkin and Alexander Semin were the first to congratulate the bride and a groom. The boys presented the young couple with the impressive stacks of money.
Hockey players Alexander Semin gave Dasha and Stas bouquet of flowers and an envelope with money.
A lot of guests gave us the money, so the guys were not an exception," confessed the bride. "Ovechkin and Semin wished us to become parents as soon as possible, to have kids. Other guests gave us exclusive things - purses, handbags, jewelry."
Where will you go on a honeymoon?
Tomorrow we fly away to the United Arab Emirates. We have chosen it on the advice of my friend. We'll live in a hotel-aquarium, where the rooms are as if they under the water. Can you imagine, even in the bedroom you're looking at the wall and see a sea of floating fish! It's a beauty!

I can now breathe a huge sigh of relief. My fantasy life is still intact. It wasn't Ovie's wedding LOL!

Families are nice and all, but do Russians ever give a thought to over-population?
You can't see Ovie and Semin below the waist. Anyone want to wager they're wearing torn jeans with holes in them? It would sort of complete their casual Friday look.
As far as having large families and over-population is concerned, let's face it. Ovie, Semin and their friends and families are far far removed from the financial reality facing most Russians. I sometimes wonder if they are aware of those who are less fortunate, or are they in a perpetual state of denial about how "real" people live? Ovie and friends do seem to enjoy a rather lavish lifestyle befitting their superstar hockey player salaries.
Really, Semin, is that the best outfit you could come up with? And it certainly doesn't look like it was a casual wedding....
Can't tell if Ovie got his teeth fixed or if they are still missing on the bottom.
Did they even bring dates?

lol. Semin making it a nice white trash bash; t-shirt, torn jeans, flip flops. Maybe he left his suits in America.
I can't harp on it too hard as I am guilty of wearing velvet pj pants and a tank top to my sisters reception but I had an excuse! No other clothes with me. My bridesmaid dress was altered too tight on the bust and I couldn't bend without it coming unzipped.

Just think, Sasha had to raid Ovi's closet to come up with that shirt; were there no Dolce & Gabbana separates clean and available at the Ovechkin mansion??
Whenever he's ready, I'll be happy to plan our wedding!! T-shirts with stupid sayings, purple short-shorts, flip-flops - all will be considered appropriate attire!! (just as long as he shows up!!)

I think it's funny the bride told the media what Alex and Alex gave--to me it was tacky of her to say something.
You gotta love Semin, no matter what he does. Like coming to a wedding in a t-shirt and probably jeans... Also, those are actually good pictures of him, and he's smiling! haha
Semin is dressed like someone who did not know that they were going to attend a wedding. The other odd thing is that it appears that neither Ovie or Semin brought a date with them, but are seated at a table with a couple. The bride's comments on the wedding gifts is also odd;who gives a handbag as a wedding gift for the couple?
Good handbags are expensive as hell, I don't think it's weird to give one as a gift to the bride.
And they probably just took each other. A "man-date" or whatever.
A Bromance at its best... they probably didnt think twice about taking each other!
@A: ROFL at the idea of the two Alexes as man dates! That would explain how and why they were dressed the way they did at the wedding. They already share a closet and have come out of it LOL!
Of course now the Russian tabloids will have a field day with this story, questioning the sexual orientation of both players. Especially since the woman they claimed was Ovie's girlfriend denied there was anything romantic between them.

The Russian media has never made anything out of Ovie and Semin going to events together. It is nothing new. They are more interested in the various females he shows up to events with and are always speculating on who his girlfriend is. Last summer Ovie said he wouldn't take his girlfriend to events - only female friends - to keep his private life private. Prepare to see him photographed with many different girls over the summer.

Semin's t-shirt apparently is Ovi's and I think he wore it on purpose. It says: "Sex and Love are the Future." Appropriate, right? I saw a picture of Ovi with the same t-shirt on.
So where/when was this wedding if Ovi just returned from Turkey?
Because you're getting your panties in a knot over a joke. And it's kinda sad that it seems to bother you.

If you're new then it usually isn't a good idea to start attacking another poster since you wouldn't be as familiar with the give and take of the comments on this site. It is a good rule when joining any online community to ease yourself into interactions and give the benefit of the doubt to other posters.

Hey hey hey! Will the combatants please stop the sniping? For the record I was joking about Ovie and Semin. Didn't anyone notice the LOL in my posts? Ovie brings out the humor in me so please, let the battling parties understand this.
@tj: yes I'm female. Aren't my fantasy posts about Ovie a giveaway? Maybe not so I hope this clears up any mystery about me here.
@Anonymous who mentioned this or anyone else who knows for sure: does Ovie have a current girlfriend? Or was his statement last summer about not taking his girlfriend to events meant hypothetically, that if he had one he wouldn't take her? My fantasy life depends on the answer LOL. I can't imagine someone being his girlfriend and having to put up with seeing photos of him with lots of different women over the summer.

I would think that Maria (the friend who is married to the musician) would know if Ovie had a girlfriend at the moment, so I think the road is clear for you (unless he's gotten one in the past few days). ;)
As for not taking his girlfriend, when he has one, to events, that was from an interview (?) last summer. It's in this site's archives. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes her to things she wanted to go to, but makes certain he is seen with others periodically to keep the media guessing. Except for the former Miss Russia, most of his known girlfriends have been ordinary people who looked uncomfortable in the spotlight.

@O: Thanks for coming out of the shadows as Anonymous and for your reply. If, as you say, I still have a chance with Ovie, you made my day. My week. My month. LOL!
For the record, if I was lucky(?) enough to be selected by Ovie and he took me out in public, I would be very very uncomfortable in the limelight. Being under constant scrutiny, photographed and hounded relentlessly, is not my idea of how to build a lasting relationship. It's not easy being Ovie or his girlfriend in that type of environment.
On a lighter note, ROFL at the idea of Ovie and Semin sharing a t-shirt that says "Sex and Love are the Future." Next thing you know, we'll find out the handbag gift to the bride came from either or both of them LOL! Or, the handbag was originally intended as a gift TO either or both of them LOL!
Oh, please, if there is a God, let some pictures be leaked of a shirtless Ovie on a beach in Turkey or Cyprus. Semin with him is optional, an added bonus to enhance my fantasy life.

FYI, the Russian government is giving couples bonuses for having children. Russia is rapidly aging and not enough children are being born to sustain the population.
