Ovechkin is back in Moscow

From bmw.110km.ru, July 1, 2010:

BMW RUSSIA introduced a new BMW X5 2011 at the grand gala night at the Cultural Center "Strelka" in downtown Moscow.

The culmination of the evening was the presentation to the public of the updated SUV BMW X5. All evening the guests enjoyed jazz from Super Lounge Orchestra, fiery disco hits from the unforgettable hit makers Candy Shop Band, stunning light and sound effects, unforgettable gala buffet and aristocratic elegance and fine taste of Ballantine's whiskey.

Among the guests were: Renata Litvinova, Dima Bilan, Yana Rudkovskaya, Elena Malikov, Catherine Dobryakova, Alexander Ovechkin, Anfisa Chekhov, Katherine Mtsituridze, Sergei and Galina Mazateva, Petr Aksenov, Michael Galustyan, Julia Kolmonovich Timur Rodriguez, Catherine Odintsov and others.

Correction: This event was on June 25, 2010, but the web site had posted it today.

Here's the photo from that event from Spletnik.ru (6/28/2010):

I guess Ovie is still enjoying the beaches of Jurmala...

I've always wondered how Ovie's father has felt about going to all of these events with him.

And of course, Ovie looks amazing. <3

Like father like son, I'm sure daddy Ovechkin can party with the best of them :-)

Who's the third guy?

Ovie, dear, you are not in SoCal, Hawaii, or Australia - the few places where that outfit wouldn't look out of place.

Uncle Misha is a social creature like his son.

Apparently Ovie brought back a spare Caps hat for his friend.

That outfit of his explains why he was chosen for the worst dressed list. Still, it's nice to see Ovie having fun and still wearing his Caps hat.

Everybody was totally dressed up on that event except Ovechkin & Co. But if you are Ovie, you can do it and nobody would say a word.

Well, what can I say that hasn't already been said? I was having a not-so-good day and then WHAM, a pick-me-up Ovie photo to lighten the mood and lift my spirits.

Those pants/shorts or whatever that is Ovie's wearing, definitely brought a huge smile to my face. They look like slipcover material. Did his Mom re-do the living room couch and make those duds from the leftover fabric? What a hoot.

I love how Ovi's dad is always dressed to go to the beach. Every day! Its cute.

@BobbyG: I was thinking skirt material, but slip cover will do :-)

Still, who else could pull that off besides the Great 8.

I like Papa Ovechkin, he seems like he's having a great time in every pic, I can see where Ovie got his fun loving personality!

I cant tell if Ov's is wearing a sarong on trunks...lol

Maybe that's what he was wearing when he got off the airplane. NHL Awards in Vegas on the 23rd, Ontario youth hockey demo on the 24th, this BMW event in Moscow on the 25th. No down time at all.

BobbyG said...

@O: good point. Ovie apparently didn't have room in his luggage for clothes. He had all to do to get his hockey gear to Ajax for the youth hockey demo. Even the tee shirt is familiar. It's the same one we saw in the Rock Star photos on an earlier thread.

Ovie, you can stop by during your travels to see me anytime. You won't have much need for clothes here LOL!

The Rock Star photos from an earlier thread were from last summer.

Yes, he did wear the Rock Star shirt last summer at Ivanushki party (earlier thread). But this one is from June 25, 2010 BMW X5 presentation.

Aww! You gotta love him- diddnt he wear a cookie monster shirt to a dressy event once?

And i have to agree on his dad, always looks so happy.

Thanks for clearing up the when and where of the Rock Star shirt.

Just to be clear, I'm not complaining at all about this Ovie garment. From what I recall, I suggested adding warning labels when the photos were posted. This shirt actually is one of my favorites from Ovie's wardrobe. It shows off his, ahem, upper torso assets VERY nicely, thank you very much.

The bottom portion of his outfit looks like the material from 1970s vinyl outdoor furniture.

*having a flashback*

BobbyG,

Check this web site: http://www.talk-sports.net/nhl/girlfriend.aspx/Alex_Ovechkin

I call it "Chicks did Alex Ovechkin". They have a lot of discussion about Ovie and ton of pix. I sometimes steal pix from them.

BobbyG said...

@O: ROFL! Vinyl furniture, sarong, slipcover fabric...whatever was Ovie thinking that day?

@TJ: Thanks for the link, I bookmarked it. First thing I noticed, there was a very nice pic of Ovie in a suit and bow tie that I hadn't seen before! YUM!

OK, here's a question for anyone and everyone which I know has already been asked but I forgot where and when. Where can items from Ovie's clothing line be bought, the stuff with the logo that TJ uses as an avatar? I've searched the Internet, and don't even know if it's still out there, or more importantly, if I can afford any of it.

@BobbyG: They do sell some of the items at the store at the Verizon center, but I guess if you're not near Washington DC that won't work.

O said...

@BobbyG,

Ovechkin wear is sold at the pro shop @ Kettler (the Caps practice rink), sometimes Verizon center, and a few locations in Canada. Designs change slightly each season. Have you tried Ebay or other online auction places?

If there is something you really want, I would be willing to get it for you at Kettler. Prices for t-shirts and hats are in the $20-$40 range and sweatshirts/jackets are over $80. Cold weather clothing is probably marked down this time of year and there are sales before the items for next season arrive.

They also had some at the Caps Convention last year so I would imagine they will this year as well. :)

I'm way too far away from DC to do me any good insofar as acquring anything from Ovie's clothing line. This is probably a good thing anyway, since I'd probably be camped out at Verizon Center and Kettler Iceplex to feed my Ovie fix LOL.

@O: you are an example of why this blog is such a blessing to me. There is one particular item from Ovie's clothing line that I am most interested in. I've seen a photo of Ovie in a black tee shirt with the red logo that segues into a white graphic of a guitar. This design is especially important to me because it represents MY two great passions--Ovie and playing guitar. I almost, but thankfully didn't, have to sell my precious Fender Stratocaster to help pay my medical bills. The guitar was given to me years ago as a birthday gift by my late parents. It would have broken my heart to part with it. The black Ovie tee I described would be a treasured remembrance, a tangible representation of everything that's important to me.

O said...

@BobbyG,

That design was from one of the earliest seasons. I haven't seen it in shops for over a year, but I'll keep it in mind when I'm a Kettler.an eye out for it.

What size do you wear?

BobbyG said...

@O: In this case with an Ovie tee I'd like it oversized (2XL)to wear as a sleep shirt, for reasons that need no explanation LOL.

BTW, if and when you stop by Kettler take a look at what other Ovie shirts or other items are available, mostly what's on sale so I don't bust my meager budget. I might go for a hat or scarf too; I'm looking for head coverings as my hair starts to fall out.

O said...

@BobbyG,

Just found this site. It has the shirt you described marked down to $20.

@O: OMG! I can't believe this is happening! I placed my order and can't wait to get it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
