Ovechkin recorded a song for a girlfriend (update)

That's according to LifeShowbiz.ru. I'd take anything from them with a a grain of salt. Cum grano salis, my friends! :-)

(from Emily's archives)

Here's the translation:

Alexander Ovechkin recorded a song for his girlfriend, along with the artist Dzhigan of Black Star Inc. Russia's forward wants to be a star not only on the ice. Very soon a real surprise is awaiting the true fans of hockey and the fans of rap.

It is unlikely that the song that was co-created with artist Dzhigan of Black Star Inc. will appear on live radio, but hopefully it would seep into the internet.

The best hockey player is not giving the name of a lucky girl to whom he devoted his premiere creation, the 24-year-old hockey player only said that at this time it's "all very serious."

"No, no, no, I will not say who she is. If all goes well, you'll soon find it out by yourself," said Sasha denying Life Showbiz provocative questions. "All Timan [Timati - tj] friends are my friends, and we often improvise with them at parties, usually as a joke, but this time I decided to record a track to make a surprise to my girlfriend.

Ovie arrived to the studio late at night after watching the semi-final soccer match between Holland and Uruguay and brought with him a great support group. The players of the Moscow Dynamo Denis Kolodin and Andrei Voronin, as well as close friends of the hockey player, were helping a friend.

If this trend continues, we soon will be able to see Ovechkin singing, with the group Ivanushki, for example.

Dzhigan showed studio to Sasha, but when the recording began, Life Showbiz was asked to leave. It turned out that a world hockey star, who is applauded by thousands, is shy to sing in front of the camera.

Video update:

Dzhigan is asking if Ovie wants it louder. Ovie says, "Yes, make it louder please". Dzhigan shouts, "Kostja, make the music louder so that the voice could be heard!"

Thanks for keeping us up-to-date with Ovie news. I LOVE that he has his name on his pants!
Wow, I didn't even noticed it at first...

Update:
I thought I've seen Dzhigan before, and, yes, he was at the kickboxing tournament with Ovie:

Dzhigan's bio at www.nudecelebs.ru/bio/19377/ tells that his real name is Dennis Ustimenko-Winestein, born in Odessa, Ukraine, started rapping at the age of 9 and martial arts at the age of 11. He is a European silver medalist in kickboxing (wow), two times Ukrainian champion. The last name can tell why he has a Magen David tattoo and the saying "God is always with me" in Hebrew. Interesting... Here's the link to YouTube video where he is recording the song at the same recording studio.

Oh well, I suppose this was inevitable. I was hoping my fantasy life would last a bit longer but it looks like it wasn't meant to be. *Sigh*

I'm not even sure if I should watch the video in case secondhand embarrassment gets too much.

BobbyG said...

@Mily: it's safe to watch the video. There isn't anything embarrassing there IMO, certainly not anywhere near what his Eastern Motors commercial was like LOL!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. :(

Well, okay, I suppose since I'm taken, Ovie has the right to be taken too... but still. My fantasy life. :( It will be okay, BobbyG... it will be okay. *pats*

BobbyG said...

@Dawn: at least you're already taken. I was taken by my ex bf, and NOT in a good way at all.

Yeah, IF this story is true it stinks because Ovie has been a source of relief and wishful dreams in the aftermath of my personal downturn. I say IF the story is true because it's very odd that a story about a mysterious gf would come out now.

When last seen Ovie was talking up some spectacular blondes in Latvia. Before that he was cavorting on a yacht with some beauties during his Turkey vacation. If there is a gf she must be pretty open-minded, because from the looks of those photos Ovie isn't ready to put his wandering eye and partying ways aside anytime soon.

I'm a little suspicious of this one; Ovi is usually so secretive about his private life. Maybe he's pulling a fast one on the press....Watch the song be about his niece or mother russia or something else corny ;-)

Oh, dear. Ovie "singing" again. Ovie, sweetie, YOU CAN'T SING. Stick to your day job.

@BobbyG,

Having seen how quickly he falls deeply in love, if there is any validity to the girlfriend part of the story, then he could have met her at any time during the past few weeks or days.

Drop it like it's hot, Alex.

@O: if Ovie can be "very serious" about a woman after only meeting her a few days or weeks ago, then his maturity level is suspect IMO. Didn't you post on another thread that he was dating someone last season and by all accounts the relationship fizzled out? Now I'm wondering when he had the time to meet someone new, start dating, and then be so infatuated he has to record a song for her. Over the past 2 1/2 months since the Caps season ended Ovie has been on-the-go non-stop to the World Championships, vacation in Turkey, Moscow, Miami, Las Vegas, Canada, Latvia. The gf, if she exists, is either a flight attendant or someone he "met" online and they never actually interacted in person LOL!

Of course it could be as bwitch16 suggested, Ovie could be pulling a fast one on the press. Or they could have taken his words out of context and attributed quotes to him that they themselves invented. Or he could be singing about the female doggie he brought home to Moscow LOL!

BobbyG,
I think it's likely that Ovie doesn't have a girlfriend and the Russian website is wrong. I've read in many places that Russian journalism doesn't follow the standards that we are used to here (some of them just make up crap). So I wouldn't take the report too seriously and let it affect your fantasy life.

Also, there have been some recent reports of Ovie being single. That blond chick married to the red haired Russian singer said Ovie was single. I can't recall if Ovie himself said it too recently. So I think you don't have anything to worry about.

Why doesn't anyone think it's the blong girl standing next to him? She's gorgeous and she's holding a disc like if Ovi would have given her a copy of the recording he made.

I could see him falling madly in love quickly, but I'm not so sure how long it would last despite what he says.

Gorgeous? She looks alright, kinda trashy (what is it with Russia and ripped jeans) and she looks stuck on herself.

It's been a month since someone said he wasn't seeing anyone. That's plenty of time to meet someone. Friends seem to introduce girls to him on and off season.

BobbyG said...

As I already said, Ovie has been on the go traveling for over 2 months. When did he find time to meet and date a real person? I know Ovie moves fast, but come on! And I repeat, would a real gf put up with his wandering eye and carousing partying ways as e has hshown in recent photos?

BobbyG, playing Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" and sending it Ovie's way. He should have this on his iPod playlist LOL!

I saw this on talk-sports about the blond girl:

that is Yulia Voronin, wife of Andriy Voronin- he's next to ovie with the pony tail. He is a soccer player.

Who's the one on the left? She's cute and not 'trashy'.

Anonymous said...

@AB, looks like you're correct about the blond. So was it a Russian sports-talk show that you heard it on or an Canadian/US one?

@BobbyG,

It would be fast by our standards, but from cultural programs I've watched that seems to be the young Russian way.

Also, with cell phones and the internet (video phone and social media sites) a lot of getting to know someone seems to take place in a virtual reality these days. With someone who travels as much as Ovie and divides their time between two countries it can help in the establishment of a relationship. It certainly wouldn't be my prference, but I'm getting old (LOL).

Also, despite his love of partying and noticing females, I have never seen him have a wandering eye. When he's been in a relationship, he is dedicated and attentive. I'd put him in the category of fun-loving, but trustworthy.

@TJ,

Try to contact Ovie and ask him if the girl on the left is available for you. ;)

@O: It's way too fast by my standards. I also question how well you can get to really know someone and establish a relationship in a virtual reality. IMO you can't get to know someone from a distance. Nothing can replace real live living with someone--as I found out the hard way--to know someone, their values, their character. The nitty gritty of day-to-day living can enrich or doom a relationship. But if it works for Ovie, so be it.

However, until the gf actually materializes, my fantasy life remains intact. I'll keep this going--with my sense of humor--as long as possible.

BobbyG, playing along with George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" because it seems very appropriate right now
