Alex Ovechkin isn't making the trip for tonight's game, but he joked with Nicklas Backstrom after practice Wednesday that maybe he would drive out to Columbus just to watch.
"What is it, six hour?" Ovechkin said.
It actually can happen. Ovi drove to Philadelphia once to a pre-season game. Was it like two years ago? That's Ovi.

well as far as i know it's not on tv so maybe he should drive out. radio just isn't the same as watching. :(
is the pens game on tv tonight? they're actually dressing their 1st line. might be funny to watch. <3 Geno
Ovie's getting good at U.S. geography. It is about six hours without bad traffic.
What's up with Ovie and Greenie meeting the Jersey Shore guy at McFaddins? Was it an event?
Ok. Answered my own question. It was a meet Ronnie event on the 21st. I hope that doesn't mean our boys are "Shore" fans. Ugh.

Well let's be real now...isn't Ovi's life basically one huge episode of Jersey Shore with a hockey game here and there? ;)
At 120 MPH in an SL65, 6 hours tops...
@Anonymous,
No. Ovie's life is basically one continuous hockey game with life happening between periods.
Thanks for visiting, Troll.
@Joe, Nah. 3.5 hours with Ovie behind the wheel.
Wear you seatbelt, Ovie!!!!
@whoever was discussing Ovie's chains recently,
Ovie was wearing both chains over the weekend.
Yeahhh Caps won!!!
Also, my leafy boys won too! And Kulemin scoreddd, so did Grabovski!!!
...sorry. Also, Yay on Semin for the assist. Sounds like it was a good game though!
The Caps rolled to a 6-2 victory, even w/o Ovie and Nicky playing.
Ovie has the knack of seeming to always be in the right place at the right time for a photo op, to see what's happening and be seen.
I wouldn't be surprised to read about Ovie and Nicky taking a spontaneous drive to Columbus in Ovie's Mercedes just for the heck of it, to see how fast they could get there and back. Nothing about Ovie surprises me much anymore. :)
Speed limits and seat belts seem to be foreign concepts for Ovie. There are many things about him I would never change, but his driving habits are at the top of my list for him to correct.
@O
"troll" ???
Wow. Hold on a second.
You will notice the ";)" at the end of my comment, which I purposely added to imply that my comment was a JOKE.
I love this blog. I love Ovi to death. It was just a silly comment, just poking fun at the fact that he likes to party - which I have no problem with as long as he continues to keep his head on straight. I KNOW he works extremely hard at his profession, I know he pretty much eats, sleeps, and breathes hockey. I know.
It was simply a joke. You know, Ovi tends makes a lot of them...
@Anonymous: We believe you, don't worry. When you post, use Name/URL radio button and enter some kind of name of even letter, that way it's easier to address you.
Frankly I never watch Jersey Shore, but Mr. Irrelevant called the guy Jersey gorilla. Kind of gives you some clue... :-)
Thanks TJ, I have posted a couple other times under an actual name (this one) but today I was really just being a little lazy and clicked anonymous because it was easier. haha But from now on though I will make sure to use a name.
@Anonymous,
Welcome. I'll take you at your word. I didn't notice the emoticon. This year we've had more trolls on the site than ususal. Makes us jumpy.
@O - I wonder if there was a breakup in the past week or something then. Hmmmm. It'll be saddening if it had because he seemed very happy with Valeria but it'll fuel the fantasy of the fangirls immensely. ;)
Seriously though, I hope that wasn't the case. Ovie deserves to find the right girl and true happiness. I know he always said that hockey is #1 but he has also said that he is looking for 'the one' as well.
@Dawn,
Not with how often they were texting each other the last day I saw her. Also, as I mentioned in another thread, it is Fashion Week season. London just finished and Milan and Paris are next. She did at least one of those weeks last year. If she wants to be a successful model, then that is where she is.
