He shoots, he scores

Ovechkin shoots... and scores! But how?
How does Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin score so many goals? Canadian professor and author of "The Physics of Hockey" Alain Hache reveals the science of a slap shot, and what gives Ovechkin his edge. (AJ Chavar/The Washington Post)

H/t to Lindsay Applebaum

Canadian professor still can't explain what gives Ovechkin the edge. Flexing the stick? Everybody does it, but why Crosby can't shoot like Ovechkin?

Tinted visor is not an explanation either, if it would be, everybody would wear tinted visors. And best players never look where they will shoot, they look somewhere else to deceive the goalie.

Canadian professor? bwahaha

Bwahaha indeed.

This professor "expert" completely misses the point about what makes Ovie so great. Trying to explain Ovie or his shot using the laws of physics is futile.

Ovie defies gravity and all physical laws as we know them, and I do mean ALL physical laws LOL. Ovie inhabits his own unique universe which is beyond the comprehension of mere mortals who try in vain to describe and capture his essence. Ovie is one of a kind, plain and simple.
