Ovie definitely has exclusive OvechkinWear items. (Or maybe he's like little kids who have their name and info pinned to their clothing. If he's forgets who he is he can look at what he is wearing.) :P
I was at caps con. A kid asked Ovie what his favorite animal was, and he said dogs. Then he said he brought his German shephard Ghera from Russia and she's a great dog.
Nicky said he was single as did Varly. Varly didn't really answer many questions in his panel but he was funny, as was Nicky and Ovie of course. John Carlson's mom said he was not single. Marcus Johansson had his family and girlfriend there, she is very pretty.
Oh, also Boudreau spoke very highly of Semin and said he speaks English and they had a few conversations in English. Ovie has also mentioned in recent interviews that Semin speaks English. I wonder if we'll see him do an interview in English this season?
Ovie said he didn't watch American TV shows because he couldn't really understand what was going on, but he, Varly, and Semin watch Russian TV shows that they bring from home.

@AB: I'm surprised Varly said he was single and didn't have a girlfriend. I thought in a recent interview he said he was fortunate to have found a Russian girl in the US. I also recall him saying some unflattering things about the weight of American women. :(
We had a blast at the convention, I especially enjoyed the kids questions and the Coming to America session. I got my picture taken with Nic and spoke Swedish to him which caught him off guard in a positive way. Did not get Ovis autograph, but oh well, next time.

@ O, I was going to comment on the Ovi jeans as well. Maybe your theory has some validity :)
I also loved how Ovi came out wearing flip flops with the winter classic uniform and Rod Langway was barefoot. Made me laugh :-)

Varly met the girlfriend you mention his first year in Hershey/DC. They were together off and on for a while, but I haven't heard anything of her for at least half a year or more.
The video recap on the Caps site has great footage of Brooksie and Ovie playing street hockey with a group of kids (starts around the 2 min mark). There are some titillating sightings of Ovie's delightful posterior. ;D I love how his eyes remained glued to the puck even with everyone trying to talk to him.

I thought it was funny how the video started with a closeup of Vogs' caps cuff links.

On Ovi's footwear,Ovi was not the only guy to wear sandals at the con. Semin was wearing sandals (i.e. flip flops) as well. What is it about the guys and their "beach slippers"?
