Second game-winner in a row for Ovechkin (video)
And total of 8 goals in overtime for Great Eight in his career. Rock 'n' Roll, baby!
washcaps: Ovechkin, Green and Hendricks on the OT win (Mike Green's 31:53 of ice time was more than he had in all but one game last year):
Ovi: It was the end of my shift, I just wanted to shoot the puck and change

WASHINGTON -- Alex Ovechkin scored with 31.1 seconds remaining in overtime, lifting the Washington Capitals to a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Monday night.
Ovechkin, who had been limited to two shots, skated down the right wing, got a half-stride on defenseman Chris Phillips and sent a wrist shot from the right circle past goalie Pascal Leclaire for his third goal of the season.

In that first video, Ovi looks good. Its funny how you can tell they were clowning around just before the interview, and then he suddenly goes into serious mode. The little smiles break through, though.
Maybe it is the lighting or something, but Mike Green looks really, really pale. I think he needs to spend some time out in the sunlight! Even Canada has sunlight! Maybe he needs to spend next summer's vacation with Ovi.
That OT goal was lucky. There wasn't a lot of force on it, but I liked the little fakeout move right before the release.
The Sens are looking like a promising team this year.
Greenie has very pale skin - the darkness of his hair makes it even more apparent. He doesn't hold a tan for long.
Hope Brads is ok.
Glad Ovi got it done but worried that I'm not seeing the Swedish-Russian magic between Nick and Ovi happening yet. Hope it cames back soon.
Loved how Erskin rode Ruutu like a pony at one point in the game and then hit him right in the face :-)
@bwitch,
Ovie, Nicky and Knuble only played one preseason game together and weren't together for much of the latter part of training camp. A bit more time and they will be clicking again. Also, Nicky is recovering from a gash on his leg (14 stitches, I think) and that has probably affected his play. (Nor has Ovie found his consistency in games.)
@O: I forgot about Nickys injury. Maybe he just needs some nice (read bad) girl to play nurse and tend to his wound ;-)
As long as Ovi's consistency is not impacted by gf, she can stay for a while. Semin looked good yesterday though, which made me happy, and Neuvy make me exstatic every time he's on the ice (although I do miss Theo) :-)
Well, Ovie hasn't been playing well and it's not because of the slashes to his wrist. He needs to get his head and energy in the game.
@O: So true. Hopefully his mojo will soon return, together with Nickys.
I agree, Ovie hasn't been playing well despite his three goals. In the game against Ottawa, he was mostly ineffectual and non-productive, took dumb penalties, and seemed out of sync until his lucky OT heroics. Whatever the reason, I hope the distractions, from whomever and whatever, will end. More playing time should make him more consistent. As O said, his head and energy just aren't there now.
