“He’s amazing. There aren’t enough words in English or Russian to describe him.”
~Chris Drury
"He's like the shark in Jaws, circling in the water waiting for blood. They should play that music from the movie – da-duh, da-duh, da-duh - when he's out on a shift. He doesn't just go after loose pucks, he hunts them down."
~John Davidson, President of Hockey Operations for the St. Louis Blues.
Keep the faith, TJ, and keep up the good work.
Thank you, Alex Ovetjkin, for killing this ridiculous storyline with this post.

Just wanted to thank you for posting my book on your blog, which I consulted a fair bit while researching and writing the book. In particular, the comprehensive list of links on alexovetjkin.blogspot.com is the best library on Ovechkin material available anywhere.

The caption tells it all, tells it like it is. I haven't seen the print edition yet, but you can read the article in the online edition if you have the time and patience to turn the electronic pages:

Looks like they photo-touched his unibrow--unless Valeria plucked his eyebrows.
No Excuses.
....
Except for the ones they're going to give us.
@M: Well it wouldn't be much fun if they gave excuses up front now would it......
@Anonymous: Manscaping of the team, would be a great segment in the HBO special, no? :-)
Anonymous is right... they totally photoshopped his brow! I have picture evidence, but cant upload the picture I have that definitely came from this photo shoot. Its a super hi quality photo. I have no idea where I got it from, but the date seems to be 9/5/2010. And its a better picture (IMHO) than the HN cover.
I just love the term manscaping!
Anyway, TJ, you've gotta explain it to us stupid Americans--is a unibrow not a bad thing in Russia? Ovi's not the only Russian I've seen with one, Evgeni Plushenko, the skater, also has one. Maybe in Russia, it's a sign of virility.
@Anonymous,
A unibrow isn't a bad thing in Russia and several other Slavic countries.
There are even a few countries where a female with a unibrow is considered sexy.
