Ovechkin spotted at Halloween night (update)
The Reliable source, Nov. 2, 2010:
Alex Ovechkin doing the Halloween thing in Clarendon on Sunday night -- black hat and black shirt that read "Eminem." His lady friend in one of those sexy-scanty ensembles. Stepped into Spider Kelly's, where he was spotted with teammates Nick Backstrom and Mike Green, who teased Ovie for his poor performance on the bar's pop-a-shot basketball game.
What's that? No pictures of Ovi in black hat and his lady friend? It's a shame, "Reliable Source"!

On Saturday, V was in NYC going to a Halloween party. Pictures are floating around, same long hair but with bangs (real or for the costume?).

The girl in the picture entering Spider McGee's or whatever with Ovie doesn't look anything like Lera. Lera is much thinner than that girl. Also Ovie always lets his girl enter in front of him, holds the door for her ect ect.

O, you're an excellent Valeria stalker. What is her twitter name?
I'm thinking that girl probably isn't with Ovie, otherwise he'd be opening the door for her and letting her go in first. She might of gone up to Ovie inside (which is why the Wash Post thinks they were together) but I don't think he came with her. That pic was taken Sunday night, maybe Valeria was still in NYC while Ovie was having a guys night. I wouldn't call the girl in the pic fat, but she has probably 10-15 more lbs than Ovie likes.
My aunt met someone who is a bartender at Russia House and knew all the Russian Caps. According to her, Ovie doesn't even like Russians that have been in America awhile, he likes them fresh from Russia and brings them over himself. That girl in the pic is probably an American.

That is DEFINITELY not Valeria. She dresses and conducts herself with more class than that.
And that's rather hypocritical of Ovie, to dislike Russians who have been in America for a while... since his brother is one and he himself has been in the States for a while and will continue to do so.
Ok I don't want to give you the wrong impression of Ovie, I probably didn't phrase that right. I'll just quote my aunt directly about her conversation with the bartender at Russia House, who is from Russia:
Varly is really nice and quiet when he comes in, just likes to sit quietly. But his girlfriend is a witch. She is "Baltic", which this woman described as a "kind of low-class Russian." She always wants to leave and bullies Varly. Ovi comes in with a different girl all the time, usually blonde and skinny, and is kind of an "awkward dork". He does not like Russian women who are here for some other reason, because they have become too Americanized. He likes Russian women right off the boat and usually brings them over to the US with him directly from Russia. Federov was a huge playboy. Kozlov was a "gentleman." She said Semin rarely comes in.
Maybe the other girl is Olesya, who's come to the US to take more menage a trois pics LOL!
Oh TJ, if you want to see a photo of me in my Stevie Nicks "Rhiannon" costume, you only have to ask :) But be warned--unfortunately, even in his black hat, Ovie didn't look or sound anything like Lindsay Buckingham.
I'm not horribly surprised about those descriptions- Poor Varly though!!!! How could anyone honestly be mean to him? He's so cute!!!
I figured as much about Feds and Kozzy. Where ever he plays, Viktor seems to have the same general persona, so it isn't surprising he's like that off the ice/away from the rink. ...don't really need to say much about Fedorov's persona, but I still love him. <33
Also, Semin continues to be mysterious. I like it. lol
I'm not too worried about Ovie, he'll settle down when he's ready.

Well, then Ovi shouldn't really like Valeria since she's lived in the US before and considers NY one of her favorite places. I would have thought the opposite and one of the reasons why Ovi likes Valeria so much is that she doesn't have to get used to living in the US.
My guess is Russian girls who have been here awhile probably expect Ovi to be faithful, whereas ones that he brings over are probably so happy just to be here with him, they'll turn a blind eye to his playing around.
I thought Varly said he was single when asked at the Caps convention... Who's this witch they speak of, she needs to go :-)

I have news for Ovie, his future wife, whoever she may be, will become Americanized to some degree unless he marries after he retires from NHL hockey.
I wonder what the ridiculous issues he has with Russians living in America. Or, is this opinion from a couple years ago? Some of his strong opinions seem to be softening lately, maybe this one will too. Either way, he needs to develop a more realistic view of women, wives and motherhood or he'll find himself in a bad marriage. Right now he is too wrapped up in myths and ideals to make smart relationship decisions.
As for faithfulness, I have seen no indication that Ovie has a problem being faithful when he is actually in a committed (not open) relationship.
And yes, Ovie is an awkward dork who can laugh at himself.
One last point:
If he never dates Americanized Russians, or Americans, or Canadians, or Costa Ricans, or Austians, etc., he will never know if he is compatible with them or if they share his values. He is judging what he doesn't know.
If he has observed bad relationships with these people (Varly for instance), then he is writing off entire populations of women based on a few bad experiences of friends. Have his friends and he never had bad Russian relationships? I doubt it, and yet those bad examples haven't made him swear off Russians. I call double standard and more tolerance for what you are familiar with independent of the quality of the people involved.

Yes, the awkward dork part was about Ovie. I can totally see that.
I was confused myself when I heard this update from my aunt, because I also heard Varly and Nicky say they were single at Caps con. I think it's either that this is old news from the bartender (I didn't talk to her myself to know) or Varly interpreted single to mean not married. I hope it's that this mean girl is history because it's sad to think of nice, adorable Varly being mistreated while there are plenty of skinny American girls around who would treat him wonderful.

I thought O stands for O'Nov (Like Larry O'Nov). BTW, Ovi dated Alyonka larionov, at least briefly, and she is Russian American.
I'm just analyzing and providing a broader perspective as I tend to do. I didn't say anything I haven't said before.
As for Alyonka, when did they date? I've only heard/read both of them saying repeatedly that they've only been friends.
