Jersey Shore (MTV, 10pm) – 8.833 million viewers. Even SpongeBob is behind them. :-) How can it possibly be? I have no clue... Nicklas Backstrom confessed to Lindsay Czarniak that he watches the "Jersey Shore" show. Hope Marcus doesn't... :-)

Ugh, hate Jersey Shore, but maybe Pauly D is less gross than the rest of the cast. Don't get any cooties on the Ovi....
BTW, hate Ovi's hat with a passion, makes him look like one of the seven dwarfs. Take it off!!!!

Guess you never heard the story on Ovi's hat. Turns out it was made by a friend of Nick Backstrom's two seasons ago. She made hats like these for several of the Caps, including Ovi, Sergei Fedorov, and Brashear (and I presume many other guys on the team). Those hats all had the number of the player on them.
Last year (and even this year), Semin was spotted wearing a black hat, with his number on it. I wondered if Backstrom's friend had made some more hats for last season.

@Diane: Thanks for the explanation on the hats, still makes them look like the seven dwarfs, but I guess I can deal..but I haven't seen Nicky wear his hat, what's up with that :-)
@Marge: Why do I hate backstrom, let me count the ways, LOL. Of course I don't hate him, he's my homeboy (literally), even though he is from Gävle, and I'm from Stockholm
I "hate" those hats too. Maybe they are comfy, but they don't look good. Fedorov was wearing one too.
I don't hate Backstrom, I just think Marcus will be #1 soon, very soon, like starting from next season.
UGH, I CAN NOT STAND the Jersey Shore. Personally, I hate that the Caps are hanging out w/ Pauly D or any other cast members. I hate that they're even fans of the show. I will admit, the Beat da Beat dance during 24/7 was fun, but this is just too much. :( Come on Ovi, don't you have anyone better to hang out with?

oh right cause Ovie doesn't love girls, or partying, or drinking, or being the center of attention...totally not the right crowd to be around. i mean come on admit it Ovie is the Situation that is amazing at hockey. He's got the wierd crazy hyena laugh of Ronnie. He's got the love of DJing, clubing and "dancing", and swag of Pauly D. and he's got the close family relationship of Vinny. He IS the jersey shore.

Yes, we are all adults. I might not like everything Ovie says or does (not the hats, not his taste in clothes or music LOL) but as a fan I realize to be a real fan, I have to accept him as he is. He has faults and flaws, just like my closest friends and I do. He is a unique person unlike any other.
About the Swedish hats: Semin wears his #28 a lot, but I also saw him on 24/7 wearing a #32. Marcus wears a Swedish hat without a number sometimes. Here's a pic of him:

I actually like the hats, I think they are fun. I think it shows how good of friends Ovie is with Nicky that his still wears the hat all the time a couple seasons later. I could of done without seeing Valeria wear Ovie's hat, but oh well. It was funny when Ovie was at NHL All-Star weekend, they caught him spying on the other team discussing strategy, while he wore his Ovie #8 striped hate and Ovechkin line t-shirt.
Well I guess Pauly D got to sing " beat dat beat" with them as they won again. Eight in a row. Wohoo!!!!
I do believe I'm starting to develop somewhat of a crush on Arnott :-)

I know I know, Ovechkin is all grown up and can act as he pleases. lol. I personally however just don't like him around the Jersey Shore people. In the end, he's still Ovechkin, and I'll love him no matter what :)

I'm right there with you on the Arnott crush. He's been bringing soo much to the Caps! Lets cross our fingers that he keeps it up throughout playoffs.

Arnott brings so much to the table, not only with Semin but also Ovie is spending lots of time eating lunch and dinner with him. IMO any and all advice he has to offer has to be good for the team.
Nicky's guilty pleasure was revealed long ago. He was wearing a Jersey Shore hat at Caps Con in October.
As much as I rag Ovie for some of his clothing and music choices, they pale in importance to his driving style and tobacco use. I would put the influence of some the people he hangs out with on the warning list, but at least it seems many of his oldest friends are good people. May the better people win and the rest fall into his past.
(To clarify, I don't think DJPaulyD is bad. At least he has more talent than the rest of the Jersey Shore cast.)
@O: Driving style I can see, but tobacco use; Ovi smokes? I have never seen or heard that and he always says he would never participate in ads for any tobacco products.
Now if someone could convince Marcus to give up that disgusting habit of dipping I'd be very pleased.

Chewing tobbaco. Many of the guy on the team (and in hockey) dip and Nicky uses a type of oral snuff that comes in individual packets like a tea bag.
Players are asked to not be too obvious about their habits.

Kind of weird that Ovi said on a number of occasions that he would never ever advertise cigarettes... I just hope Ovi doesn't chew it anymore. Last time I've heard it was a couple of years ago

He was spitting in the pressbox during his suspensions last year. Stupid NBC thought it was Coke (not diet) in his cup. I doubt he's stopped in less than a year's time especially since "everyone" is doing it. It would take a health scare during his playing career or someone very special to force him to stop.
I wonder who doesn't use any tobacco products on the Caps.

I really hope he isn't using chewing tobacco, but realistically he probably is. I hope he quits before a health scare forces the issue. I don't see the appeal of this stuff to hockey players. And Swedish WOMEN do it? Double ugh and ick.
