Who else wants to move to DC to be one of the most insane fans on Earth?

This is a no-brainer. If I could afford to live there, I'd pack my bags and move to DC tomorrow, just to see Ovie and the Caps in person at games and practices. I telework, so if I got a comparable job in DC, I'd get very good at multitasking from Verizon Center and Kettler Iceplex LOL.
I have been a Caps fan since 1993 and I've seen the fans get behind players like Bondra, Kolzig and the buzz around DC when we got Jagr was huge, but the buzz around DC when we drafted Ovechkin was like no other. When I left for college in 2005 I wasn't that worried, I figured oh ok I'll watch games on TV maybe this new kid can make games a little more exciting but boy was I quickly regretting picking a school so far away! What Ovechkin did for DC is something that is undeniable, he brought the team, the city and the NHL to life. he gave people something to cheer for even though we were still losing. When I came home for thanksgiving break I was so excited to see him live for the first time, and he didnt fail to deliver. He scored the GWG in the shootout and then MCI center was the loudest I had heard it in a long time, it was amazing.
I savor in the fact I have friends and family in DC so anytime I want I can go and watch a Caps game, I never have any troubles getting a ticket (I even have my own personal scalper *shhh* lol) You can watch all the games you want on TV but nothing NOTHING compares to being there, the crowd is nothing short of amazing, and watching Ovechkin live in person, even if he doesn't score...oh...my...god. seriously nothing compares!
@Marge- I got to see Ovi score in person for the first time a few weeks ago in Detroit. Even though the Caps didn't win that game, it was AWESOME!
I think I see a bit of playoff beard shadow on Ovi in the press conference video. Nice to see some scruff again! And Ovi is always so fidgety. He needs something to occupy his hands when he's on camera.

Looks like Ovi may be going for a goatee as his playoff beard. Maybe that was his compromise with Gillette.
Watching a game in person is the biggest kick ever and even just going to their practice is fun. Seeing Ovi in action never dissapoints and the Caps fans have such a great vibe.
We (hubs and I) get tickets from one of our STH friends on a regular basis so we have been to several games this season. Nothing compares :-)
yep ovie def has some scruff. I remember when the Gillette deal was announced in the press conference the gillette people said they understand tradition and superstitions and wouldn't get in Ovie's way if he wanted to carry that on come playoffs. they said they simply ask him to keep it trimmed and neat but he can still grow it
I noticed the scruff on Ovie's chin today for Game 3. If that's going to be his playoff beard, if there was some compromise with Gillette about the extent of his facial hair, I can live with it. As the goatee grows, Ovie will look even more rakish and devilish, and that's perfectly OK. Rakish devilish Ovie gets 2 thumbs up from me. :)
