Ovechkin won't get an extra nap, step closer to meet Crosby

Is it even freaking legal? :-)

from Twitter / AGrossRecord
  • In the playoffs, Rangers will be conducting morning skates at Madison Square Garden instead of their practice facility.
  • Most Rangers living in the city. Also ensures Capitals have to wait until 11:30 to skate so they don't get extra hour to nap.

Yes, it is. Do whatever you can to make the opposing team uncomfortable. I won't be surprised if the guest's locker room would be repainted before game 4 for the fumes, so that players won't be able to breathe there.
"But your Coach Bruce Boudreau complained that dressing room at MSG doesn't look good!"

It actually happened before in the history of playoffs; the guest's locker room repaint, as well as the false fire alarm that went on in the middle of the night in the hotel where Avs stayed in Red Wings - Avalanche series.

I totally agree that Rags were targeting Green and Boudreau's comment on that is very appropriate to raise awareness of the officials. However his comment on MSG (lousy and not being loud) was unnecessary, just like last year's comment on Plekanec, "Tomas who? Jagr?" Tomas scored OT winner in the next game. You never know, why give opposing team anything extra that could motivate if not Rangers then MSG audience?

from Twitter / AGrossRecord2 thoughts on new NBC/Versus deal for NHL:
1. Heights probability of participation in 2014 Olympics;
2. Lessens chance for another lockout.

And he is right, since NBC is covering the Olympics, they will be heavily lobbying NHL to participate in Sochi-2014 games. All goes well for Ovi in his dream to meet Crosby there, isn't it? :-)

Another strange thing is that NHL's contract with NBC/Versus will expire the same year as Ovechkin's 13-year contract with Capitals.

All he needs now is to pass NY Rangers in the first round. A journey of thousand miles starts with this year playoffs, or something like that. :-)

TJ, BB was asked questions regarding MSG and he answered them as best he could which according to BB is to be honest.

I am not a coach and I'm not taking all the heat for my team, so I can sit here and say that I wouldn't have answered the question that way. We honestly don't know what we would have said because we're not the ones in that situation.

Do I wish BB would keep his mouth closed sometimes? Yes, I do. Gabby is who he is, he hasn't changed since he came here and I don't expect him to now. He can be brutally honest most of the time, but that's our BB.

I grew up in NYC and worked next door to MSG. Being there a couple of times, I can say that some parts are really bad. I haven't been to the locker rooms so I can't comment on them.

For the record, the false fire alarm in the Avs' hotel was perpetrated by some crazy Wings fans and not by anyone condoned or sent by the Wings organization. Just had to put that out there. ;)
