Tracking Ovi is like tracking Santa Claus

Here's what anonymous reader posted in previous post:

Someone posted a picture of Ovi. Not sure where it's from (US or Canada). And he looks pretty good.

It doesn't look like he gained anywhere near what he did last year, and he looks pretty tan. My guess(and hope) is Arny or whoever got him to kick it had a lasting effect

I agree. He looks in better shape than last year in August (below):

I haven't seen Ovi and Malkin's photo, but the first one is from D.C.’s Sequoia.

And after Ovi announced that he's done with shooting the video on his twitter,
Alex Ovechkin

Ovie does look thinner and in much better physical shape now than in August 2010. I hope he stays that way and continues to keep the extra weight off. But let's see what he looks like next month to be sure. It will help to have current shirtless photos of him for comparison, strictly for research purposes of course. :)

If Ovie arrived back in DC early, even if he stays only for the Caps development camp to spend time with the young Russians, I'll give him beaucoup bonus points of approval and admiration for "doing things differently" this year. I don't think he ever came back to the USA early, except for events like his CCM commercial shoot in Miami and the NHL awards in Las Vegas last year.

If Ovie is taking his leadership role more seriously, if he's even more committed to doing anything and everything possible to prepare for the season, then this is Christmas in July. And maybe, just maybe, this Russian Santa Claus will bring lots of joy to Caps fans with the ultimate present, the Stanley Cup.

Love the picture!XD

I don't understand how people think he was fat during the DVD.
I think he was Ok and then he gained weight like in August and September.

"Vido"

I'm going to tumblr and see what the haters are saying now...

@Devi: It's not that he was "fat", most was still muscle, but the problem was it took away from his speed, power, and stamina.

He's already a big guy, but because of his change in training, it obviously didn't go so well last season and he wasn't in the best shape. That and he got injured to make things worse. Hopefully he's fully healed by now.

I do agree that he looks good. Hopefully he'll keep it up and stay in the US. Maybe because Orlov and Galiev are here already, he came? Who knows.

The Caps look so much better on paper. I'm sad they got rid of Brads though. Such a nice guy. Hopefully they'll keep Semin.

Oh, they better keep Semin or I will raise the devil! And believe me, that's going to be really ugly.

BobbyG, your whole Santa Claus, Christmas in July analogy is great!
