Where does Ovechkin look when he meets a girl? :-)
Alex Ovechkin gives an interview to a Russian edition of FHM magazine, June 2011, but it was taken in May 2011. Turned out Alex Ovechkin reads FHM magazine during Washington Capitals road flights, at least what he says. Here are some excerpts...

Do you spend more on yourself or on the girls?
Equally...
Why you don't fix your teeth?
Girls like me like that anyway.
In your opinion, who is your main competitor?
Sidney Crosby.
Everybody constantly compares you with him.
The fans and the journalists like to follow the players. So what, if there will be more people attending hockey games, I am only for it.
It is said that he is training off season while you are vacationing in Moscow.
I am always training in the off season in Moscow. But in general everybody has the right to rest a bit in the summer. Perhaps I should invite you to my training and show you something. Let's see if you could do it...
What is your main motivation in hockey?
To win a Stanley Cup and Olympic gold.
Does NHL superstar has the right for a personal life?
Everyone has such right, even hockey players. We are people too.
Three years ago you said that you don't have time for a one girl. Has something changed since then?
Haha, now I have even less time than back then. Maybe I'll meet the one and only one day. Will get married, will have a family. But now I think about other things.
What were the longest relationships in your life?
Almost three years.
And the shortest ones?
10 minutes. Just kidding. Hard to say.
What do you say to a girl when you meet her?
Hello, how are you?

Where do you look first, in the eyes or on the boobs?
I look first at the legs.
Do you have to watch your weight like the FHM cover girls?
I don't need it.
What would you want to make as your brand?
Awesomely exotic and fast car with the model named "Ovechkin". Maybe one day Ferrari, BMW or Mercedes will make one.
Do you like to call or text?
I like to text, but sometimes I have to call.
What would be the best invention by the human race?
The internet.
Was it hard to move to a different country?
It is always hard to leave your home land. And I am very grateful to Ted Leonsis, George McPhee and organization for supporting me when I came to Washington.
How do you feel yourself in millionare's role?
Thanks to God I am happy.
Do you spend money for charity?
Yes. For example I help Washington DC children, bring them to our team's games. Besides that this year Cal Ripken and I did a fundraising event to help Washington's children to have things to engage in sport activities and other things.
Why do you do this?
It is important for me. I always help children when I have a chance.

See! He is training or lying about it... I don't know why but I feel like this is old news :( This is new right? Or maybe I read it somewhere else.
Like I said, training and working out are different to athletes. They don't like people to know how they train for some reason. He's probably doing more now, as well. I'm impressed with his answers, much better than the ones he has previously in similar interview.
I like what Ovie says in this interview a lot. IMO his training in the offseason in Moscow applies more to this year and the years prior to last year. Last year he started very late, and the smoke from the fires around Moscow likely affected his training in a negative way. Ovie seems more mature, more grown up, more focused on hockey lately, which hopefully will pay big dividends in the playoffs.
aaaand he's going back to Moscow. I was hoping he'd stay for dev camp. It's good he did come to US, that he saw Varly off and spend some time with team.
I think he will be okay, he does seem more gorwn up this year. I think falling in the play offs and the older guys they got last year helped him a lot and he knows they need to work harder before the play offs.
I think the Capitals look a lot better on paper, so him seeming better and being more mature make this better.
Aw, I'm disappointed Ovie won't be at the Caps development camp. It would involve only one more week's stay in DC. Oh well, let's see what Ovie has planned in Moscow--and elsewhere?--for the rest of the summer.
Slava Malamud tweeted today that he has an article on Varly that will be published on Sunday. Slava tweeted that Varly did not meet Alex when Alex was in Colorado.
I've never said Ovi was in Colorado because of Varly. I think a lot of people just assumed Ovi was there to meet with Varly. In fact I was surprised when I read it at Japer's Rink.
If Ovie wasn't in Colorado to meet with Varly, then what was the purpose of his visit? His vagabond ways lately are very mysterious. We know he was in Toronto for a video shoot, but otherwise the rest is like a covert operation. Maybe Ovie is really a Russian spy after all, and John le Carre will base the lead character in his next novel on him LOL.
International man of mystery:
@ovi8 timeline: USA (5 days ago), CAN (4 days ago), Colorado (2 days ago), DC (1 day ago), Moscow, Russia (today)
Well, we know for sure thanks to Stanislav Galiev that Ovi was at least hanging out with him and went to a Nats game, then to Ovi's house.
It's odd that they didn't talk or see each other, I wonder why he was there. Maybe just a connecting flight? Happens all the time, I suppose.
I wouldn't say I'm disappointed in him for going back. I mean, didn't he stay in Moscow until a week before training camp last year? He didn't really do anything involving the team or players other than shoots. Perhaps that was his main reason, but he did take time to spend with some of them.
Who knows, maybe he'll come back a little earlier again. If he stays in shape, I don't care where he does it.
Ovie was in Boston in between Canada and Colorado. He ate at Ray Bourque's restaurant there. There was some stuff on twitter about it.
