Alexander Ovechkin will compete with rapper Sasha Belyi on reading rap. This idea came from Belyi several years ago.
"We've been friends with Alex for a long time," said to "EG" the rapper. "We are both athletes: I am judoka, he is a hockey player. We used to compete in karaoke bars on who would say more words per minute. I joked that he had no teeth, and he joked that he plays hockey. That was the main topic of the humor between us. And then I had an idea. This year I wrote a rap "Champion", which is devoted to Alex.
After Alex Ovechkin came back from his NHL season, he happily agreed to compete with me in reading rap.

"I can rap about 700 words per minute, but how many Sasha can, I do not know. I'll have to check. The video clip is about a young singer Jascha who fell in love with the champion Sasha Ovechkin. The video clip has a happy ending."
Q.: Is Yascha a prototype of the singer Zhanna Friske with whom Ovechkin had an affair?
"Uh," the rapper paused, and laughed. "Who was not in love with him... At the end of the clip Alex is rapping about himself, where each line is flying: "Dynamo's alumni, the eight on his back, he's all-star attraction, the stands are jampacked." It is possible that we could add more of our friends-athletes to the video clip," says Belyi.

is not he supposed to be training ? I still dont see him taking his carrier seriously.
Older he gets - more time he should be spending in the gym. I see him doing the opposite
@Anonymous: He's not allowed to have friends? He's clearly been in the gym and skipping most events and parties. He started training earlier than in past years and clearly working harder. I don't see how he's doing opposite.
I'd love to see Ovi rap. Only if it's in Russian though. Well, I think he could only do it well in Russian anyway. lol

@tj: That is a relief to me haha! I actually like Russian rap, so I'm excited to hear what he's like. I remember my friends and I were rapping in both English and Russian during World Jr's haha! It's so fun.
But don't stop blogging! I don't have time to search high and low for Ovi info! haha You're the best at it, and usually nice members. :)
@tj: Isn't Ovi friends with Basta, too? He's a pretty talented rapper.
Zhanna Friske? She's like 11 years older than OV. Say it's not so. Well... maybe he likes them older?
