Old Blue Eyes Frank Sinatra sang this song as a man reflecting on a long life well-lived with absolutely no regrets.
With some slight modifications to the lyrics, the song could also apply to Young Blue Eyes Alex Ovechkin reflecting on his life to date. His life is not yet as long as Sinatra’s but certainly well-lived, as he prepares for his 7th NHL campaign.

When I Was 17, Redux
When I was 17, it was a very good year.
It was a very good year for Dynamo girls and soft summer nights.
We'd hide from the lights, on the club house green,
When I was 17.
When I was 21, it was a very good year.
It was a very good year for Moscow girls who lived up the stairs,
With long legs and blonde hair. And it came undone,
When I was 21.
When I was 25, it was a very good year.
It was a very good year for working girls, the telochki stars
Of Moscow clubs and bars. My home town streets I would drive,

But now the days grow short, I'm in the autumn of a new hockey year.
