“He’s amazing. There aren’t enough words in English or Russian to describe him.”
~Chris Drury
"He's like the shark in Jaws, circling in the water waiting for blood. They should play that music from the movie – da-duh, da-duh, da-duh - when he's out on a shift. He doesn't just go after loose pucks, he hunts them down."
~John Davidson, President of Hockey Operations for the St. Louis Blues.
Keep the faith, TJ, and keep up the good work.
Thank you, Alex Ovetjkin, for killing this ridiculous storyline with this post.
~Mike Prada, Sr. Editor, SB Nation

Just wanted to thank you for posting my book on your blog, which I consulted a fair bit while researching and writing the book. In particular, the comprehensive list of links on alexovetjkin.blogspot.com is the best library on Ovechkin material available anywhere.

Love the eyes!
I just read two real sad stories about Varly waiting in the rain to see his friends from Lokomotiv.

The translation is bad and I can't find the real article.
I think the captured his lips too... he often has a pouty lip.
here is the varlamov article

@Devi I posted those on MHH. The other article with the quote by his dad is:

I think this article is saying Varly was there at the memorial ceremony but it doesn't make that much sense in google translate (but it's in the paragraph listing other hockey players that were there).
Несколько незаметно промелькнул Семен Варламов, у которого этим летом отношения с некогда родным
« Локомотивом» подпортились.

I couldn't find anything saying he was at the memorial or funerals, just that he planned to attend.
Ovechkin was apparently skating with the rookies today, and Semin was watching them with Carlson and other players.
Ovechkin was doing the drills with the rookies and helping them. His 'C' is showing.
Here's a pic of Ovie on the bench with Dmitry Orlov at today's rookie camp session. http://yfrog.com/z/h0vp8fqj
In other news, from the Capitals official website: http://capitals.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=588156
Ovie, Jason Chimera, and Caps assistant coach Bob Woods will visit St. James School in Falls Church, VA at 1:45pm tomorrow (Monday 9/12). I've read elsewhere that Ovie lives in FC now, that he moved there from Arlington to have more security and privacy. Not sure whether this is true or just rumors.
BTW, what is the source of the Ovie Picasso artwork? Who gets credit for creating it? I like it, but would have preferred showing Ovie smiling with his missing tooth. :)
