Sweet home Arlington Virginia. And there's no place like that...

“He’s amazing. There aren’t enough words in English or Russian to describe him.”
~Chris Drury
"He's like the shark in Jaws, circling in the water waiting for blood. They should play that music from the movie – da-duh, da-duh, da-duh - when he's out on a shift. He doesn't just go after loose pucks, he hunts them down."
~John Davidson, President of Hockey Operations for the St. Louis Blues.
Keep the faith, TJ, and keep up the good work.
Thank you, Alex Ovetjkin, for killing this ridiculous storyline with this post.

Blog o Alexovi, psaný anglicky, je vážně kvalitní a aktuální
Just wanted to thank you for posting my book on your blog, which I consulted a fair bit while researching and writing the book. In particular, the comprehensive list of links on alexovetjkin.blogspot.com is the best library on Ovechkin material available anywhere.

Welcome home, chief.
I don't recall ever hearing him refer to the DC area as home before.
Welcome home, CAPTAIN.
And yes, as Cathy W said, he refers to DC as home. I think this is a first, and nice to hear.
Since it's already out that he's signed with Nike, I doubt that's the reason for the big announcement on September 6. Maybe Ovie will say something about permanent residency, maybe the reason moving his cars around, maybe he's moving.
Or maybe as Marge suggested, he's engaged. If so, I wonder if the weddings he went to last year and this year gave him ideas. If this is the reason, it's very quick. It's very quick for finding a serious girlfriend, and even more so if he's engaged.
Well he did catch up with an old girlfriend this summer (the movie date thingy) so maybe something happened......I would so upset, but would get over it, lol.
@bwitch16: if it's Anna I would be a lot less concerned because they know each other very well and have already dealt with whatever drove them apart earlier. IMO this would be a much different situation than getting engaged to someone he just met at Imperia Lounge or Soho Rooms. Anna would also have to be convinced Ovie is serious this time, and be so confident in his feelings for her she would quit her Dynamo job for him if he plans to bring her to DC.
Of course, the announcement could be to say something personally about why he chose to endorse Nike. Ovie seems more determined and committed to winning the Cup this year, and he might want to address the media about that. He might also want to address his offseason training and fitness while he has the media assembled for the announcement.
OMGGGGG!!!!!! I've waited 17 weeks for him to come back! Only 5 weeks til opening game! I cant waittttttttttt!!!!!!
WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Missed him!!!!!!!
Alex would NEVERRRRRRR tell the public he's engaged if he was. He's too smart for that!
If Ovi got married/engaged I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do that either. A simple "hahhaha marriage" tweet would be his style.
I would have to agree with the Anonymous posts, Ovi wouldn't use a media event/press conference at Kettler to announce an engagement.
This has all the marks of a work related announcement.
And yes, he has referred to this area as home before.
