“He’s amazing. There aren’t enough words in English or Russian to describe him.”
~Chris Drury
"He's like the shark in Jaws, circling in the water waiting for blood. They should play that music from the movie – da-duh, da-duh, da-duh - when he's out on a shift. He doesn't just go after loose pucks, he hunts them down."
~John Davidson, President of Hockey Operations for the St. Louis Blues.
Keep the faith, TJ, and keep up the good work.
Thank you, Alex Ovetjkin, for killing this ridiculous storyline with this post.

Blog o Alexovi, psaný anglicky, je vážně kvalitní a aktuální
Just wanted to thank you for posting my book on your blog, which I consulted a fair bit while researching and writing the book. In particular, the comprehensive list of links on alexovetjkin.blogspot.com is the best library on Ovechkin material available anywhere.

Just my observation based on a few games and today's practice: Ovie seems obsessed with his new Bauer sticks. By that I mean he was taping and re-taping it, trading one off for another, toweling it off, etc. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it seems he's still trying to get into a comfort zone with his new Bauer equipment, and that includes his skates too. I had my camera or binoculars on him almost exclusively during the games and practice (LOL) and it also looked like he was trying his best not to fall down.
Oh, one other thing, during the season opener I was filming some video and I caught in HD living color Ovie breaking one of the so-called indestructible APX sticks. He looked shocked when it snapped like a Popsicle stick, but quickly recovered to get a replacement.
Hopefully he will reach his comfort zone soon. I feel for him with all the pressure he has been under recently. While you were watching him did he seem like he was having fun or did he seem intense? I really think if he can relax and stop trying so hard things will click back into place. At least that's the advice I give my kids and it seems to work.
@Lissa: thanks for asking. Ovie didn't seem like he was having much fun at all, he didn't seem intense, just TENSE. Anonymous on another thread described Ovie as looking bleak, and that pretty much sums it up. I don't know if he's still feeling the effects of jet lag, if he's still emotionally drained from his uncle's funeral, or if it's a combination of things. Ovie didn't do much in the preseason either, and that was before he went home to Moscow for a few days. Whatever is going on, I hope he snaps out of it soon.
Alex doesnt care what equipment he is using, he just glad to play hockey. He could be using no name stuff from Wal-Mart and it wont change the way he plays.
