The Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins will raise the money for the families affected in the plane crash.
Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Malkin will do a ceremonial faceoff when two teams will meet on October 13. The game worn jerseys of both team with Lokomotiv patches will be auctioned off later at nhl.com.

The Caps told us that both teams had a desire to make this happen, but that players like Ovechkin and Malkin were the heart of the effort.
