Ovechkin, Orlov talk about new coaches
Both videos (in Russian) were shot before the game vs. Penguins
Q.: What has changed with new Coach already?
Alex Ovechkin: We had very little time to change anything. You will be able to see [yourself] during the game if something has changed or not. Tactically, yes we had changes, team training has changed, of course, it is more intense, all execises are performed at higher speed. [New coach] says that we should be more active in our zone and in our opponents' zone...
Q.: Here comes new coach, has something cardinally changed?
Dmitri Orlov: In principle, no, so far, nothing has changed yet. It will, but slow, you can't change anything on the first day. Yes, it will, slowly, a new system, the new coaches are explaining something, we watch video and are getting adjusted to new system to make less mistakes...
Is Ovi gonna do a "hot stick dance" tonight? :-)
Note of the night:
Ovechkin at 500 – Alex Ovechkin will play in his 500th career NHL game tonight. Only seven other players (Gretzky, Bossy, Lemieux, Hull, Kurri, Selanne, Bure) in NHL history scored more goals in their first 500 games than Ovechkin, who has 309 goals scored through his first 499 games. His 632 points (through 499 games) are the second-most in a player’s first 500 NHL games among active players, behind Teemu Selanne’s total of 665 (courtesy of Elias Sports Bureau).

Congrats to both Ovie and Brooks Laich for playing their 500th career NHL game tonight. I just knew one or the other would get the game winning goal. I hoped it would have been Ovie to get him going scoring goals again. But considering the Caps fortunes lately, I'll gladly take the win no matter who scored, and it was Laich who came through. :)
No goals tonight.. but the signs were much better. he almost scored a couple times. and his pass that lead to one of the goals was impressive. just a matter of time..
