You've heard it here first...

I enjoy reading Elliotte Friedman posts. Unfortunately he doesn't read mine's. :-)

Here is an excerpt from new Friedman's 30 thoughts, posted Monday, December 5, 2011, number 21:

21. Radical idea heard this week: Maybe new Capitals head coach Dale Hunter should try using Alexander Ovechkin as a penalty killer. It's time to try something different to get him going.

This radical idea was posted here 3 weeks ago on Thursday, November 17, 2011 "Will more ice time fix Alex Ovechkin's career slump?":
Anyhow, I think Bruce Boudreau should experiment with playing Ovi in short-handed situations.

First of all, Ovi will get more ice-time that can rejuvenate his career.

Second, he will improve his defensive side of the game.

Yeah, there's a chance he could get hurt by blocking shots, but if you don't want to take risks, don't fly.

If Boudreau would listen, he could still be here, haha...
