At least Caps have Mojo :-)
And at least Ovi had his hits... Both of my favorite players were the best in this game, but the game itself? What an embarrassing game for Caps in a long time!
It started so good with Mojo scoring early in the 1st period. And then it all changed. Too many one on ones were lost, Caps showed no skills, no power. It was like a hockey clinic, Caps were totally schooled by the Kings. What a shame!
Not just schooled, tebowed!
Ovechkin's stats after the 1st:
-1, total ice time 07:15, 7 shifts, average 01:02, PP 01:06, even 06:09, 1 attempt blocked, 2 missed, 5 hits
After the 2nd:
-2, total ice time 14:54, 16 shifts, average 00:55, PP 01:06, even 13:48, 1 shot on goal, 1 attempt blocked, 2 missed, 5 hits
Final:
-1, total ice time 22:27, 23 shifts, average 00:58, PP 02:56, even 19:31, 3 shots on goal, 1 attempt blocked, 4 missed, 5 hits, 1 giveaway

In a supreme act of irony, I was playing The Eagles "Hotel California" in the background during the 2nd period when the Kings broke the game open and essentially put it out of reach:
"Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax, said the night man,
We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
But you can never leave!"
Get out of California fast, boys. The Pens are coming to DC Wednesday night. They're a walking M*A*S*H unit now, plus they play the Sens the night before. Hopefully the sight of the tired, banged up, black and gold, wingless birds will bring out the best in you.
