Ovechkin: I don't think it was three-game suspension

Ovi:

I was disappointed actually. Most things is going to be all my career it's going to be like that. My game is to play physical, my game is to play hard. I don't think it was a dirty hit. Yeah, I jumped, but I think he didn't get hurt, I didn't get two minutes. I don't think it was a 3 game suspension.

I think Ovi's right, no matter what from now on, he is a repeat offender for the NHL office. Even though NHL qualifies a repeat offender as the one who was suspended during the last 18 months. I agree, leaving the feet is not a 3 game suspension.


Ovi on ASG:

My heart is not there... I'd love to be there, but I'm suspended. I don't want to be a target. I feel I'm not deserving to be there...

And then fan yells, "Hit him again, Ovi..." Ovi cracks a smile and says, "I will"

Ovi:

Right I am going to support my team [vs Boston], and after that... chilling...(smiles)

Chilling with Maria is a possibility. :-)




McPhee on three-game suspension:

Surprised and disappointed... We presented the case to the league yesterday, I thought we did really well, but didn't get results we wanted.

On previous suspensions:

And there was a lot of gray in the past. The one in Chicago... he outweighed the player by 50 pounds, it's not his fault. But I think that was a factor in this decision and I don't think it should have been.

On Ovechkin not going to ASG:

He doesn't want to be a distraction to the event. Yes, I support him in that.
