Alex Ovechkin mobbed at charity event (video update)

NHL.COM:
As for Ovechkin, much of his story is yet to be written, but his impact on the modern-day NHL is undeniable. The captain of the Washington Capitals, a perennial All-Star, a Hart and Art Ross Trophy winner, Ovechkin is one of the most marketable players in the NHL and among the most recognizable faces of hockey in the world.
So, all and all, one could say that the Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty has done pretty well in choosing the stars to headline his charity fundraiser, The All-Star Charity Event, which will take place in Montreal on February 3.
The event -- which will benefit the Max Pacioretty Foundation, Montreal General Hospital and the Vladislav Tretiak Foundation -- was organized by Pacioretty and his wife Katia, the sister of another famous hockey Max, former Buffalo Sabre Maxim Afinogenov.

Once you achieve a superstar level, you are always a superstar. Deal with it, people.
Great Eight Superstar
Who are you? What have you sacrificed?
Great Eight Superstar
Do you think you're what they say you are?
(Voice of Sidney Crosby)
Ev'ry time I look at you:-)
I don't understand
Why you let the things you did
Get so out of hand
You'd have managed better
If you'd had it planned
Now why'd you choose such a backward time
And such a strange land?

Here's some pics of Ovi arriving in Montreal.

So you believe that Ovechkin will always be a "superstar" just because of his history? I'm a Caps fan who has watched every game of his deterioration during the past two years, and I can't see how the Caps/NHL media can push him as a "superstar" for much longer. I'm sure they will try to recoup their investment for as long as possible, but eventually most people will face reality, and the mobs will disappear.
If he'll stop playing now, he will be a Hall of Famer, enough said.
And why do you think he won't get better?
I can give you an example: Stevie Yzerman. It was a long and windy road for him, 10 years since his best scoring season, to win the Stanley Cup. And his game deteriorated, if you mean scoring less, and people were considering him a loser.
Ovi is only 26, he can easily play another 12 years, and who knows what will happen.
