Make-A-Wish recipient Sam meets with Alex

Sam is a Make-A-Wish recipient and his wish was to come to a Caps practice and play with the Caps captain. On March 7, 2012 his wish came true.

Alex Ovechkin threw on Michal Neuvirth’s goalie mask today while playing hockey with Sam from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin skated with Sam Jacobson, 16, as part of ESPN's "My Wish" series. Sam has T-cell lymphoma and his greatest wish was to meet his hockey idol, Alex Ovechkin, and to skate with him. The Make-A-Wish Foundation made Sam's dream a reality by setting him up with a tour of the Caps' locker room. They arranged for him to have his own stall -- stocked with hockey equipment donated by Bauer. He suited up and skated with Alex, Karl Alzner and Mike Green.
