Ovechkin scores in overtime

Ovechkin scores game winning goal in overtime to beat Minsk Dynamo team 3-2. This is Alex Ovechkin's 7th goal. Backstrom had two assists in this game. Ovi's total ice time was 29 minutes.



Alex Ovechkin:

"The Minsk arena is outstanding. I think it is one of the best compared to those where we played. There were a lot of people even at the morning skate. And then the game itself had a great atmosphere. To be honest I was shocked to see how many people came to the game which turned out to be more difficult than expected, even though we took lead 2-0 at first. But then the opponent scored two, well, lucky goals. Especially in the first case, when the player's hockey stick broke after he shoot the puck into the zone. I didn't see the episode with penalty shot, I can't say anything.

Why in Moscow we won 7:2? Back then opponent didn't have Pekka Rinne. Today he was the best player of the game. I can say that this is a very high-class goalkeeper."

Ovechkin was asked about his captaincy because he was playing as Captain for the second game. Ovi said it was simply because their current Captain Babenko got sick.



In other news Emily reports about the basketball game between Minsk Tsmoki and Moscow CSKA. According to media Ovechkin and other hockey players were not allowed to the arena because they didn't have tickets.
