Ovechkin tells how he proposed to Maria (video)

This is "Alex Ovechkin tells..." series, issue #11, Jan 2, 2011:

Ovechkin:
"Moscow Dynamo has its first morning skate of the year 2013 in Novogorsk. After the New Year we have the same roster, same guys. It was the first time in 13 years that I've celebrated the New Year in Moscow with my family and relatives. All guys (in our team) are happy and rested.

An important event has happened to me, I proposed to Maria Kirilenko. I am very happy and pleased (smiling). I made a very serious step."

[Another player Denis joins and says, imitating female voice, "Yes" (я согласна)]

Ovi is laughing and nodding his head "It was just like that, it was just like that" and then continues...

"Well, we are preparing for the game vs Torpedo. We will be playing in Balashikha because we don't have our own arena. We hope that we start year 2013 with the victory. We hope that fans will join us in Balashikha, we understand it's far away from Moscow, but we need you. Hope to see you tomorrow."
