Former Caps prospect Filip Forsberg commented on his trade to Nashville:
"The first person who told me about the trade was my teammate from the junior national team Jacob De La Rose. He was following it on internet. He called me and told me that I can be traded. And then a minute later he called back again and said that I was traded to Nashville.
At first I was shocked. I totally did not expect this. Now, of course, after everything has already happened I can only accept it. But back then, of course, I was in shock.
Washington Capitals management never hinted to me that this could happen. We talked on the subject of what will be when the season will be over. We chatted about my game, how I was playing.
The Nashville management told me that I wlll have a great future, and that they are happy that I will be part of their team.
I am not disappointed with this trade. All of this is a part of our profession. I will try my best. I hope I will succeed in Nashville."
